Oil Pollution

On Friday 29 January oil was dumped into the collection pit on the slip ramp. This happened despite a recent notice to the contrary being circulated to all members. The water treatment plant cannot process oil. It is designed for antifoul. When oil is introduced into the system the entire system including tanks, pipes and valves are gummed up and require cleaning. A process that takes many hours of filthy work. DO NOT PLACE OIL IN THE PIT. Even if it is treated with degreaser.
If you see this oil pollution happening please ask the person to stop and report it to a board member.
Any person found introducing oil into the system will be required to front the board.
